There are eight deities in the realm of ShadowMUD: Odhrean, the Allfather Phaedrus, God of War Ianthe, Goddess of Life Zaal, God of Death Baeron, God of Nature Vndyrwynd, God of Knowledge Edorin, Goddess of the Elements Makkairi, Goddess of Protection Each deity is supreme in their domain, except for the Allfather. The Allfather has no specific domain, but rather values balance among all of them. Most, but not all, of their varied followers are clerics, though they each have followers of any and every profession. The following circle represents how closely related each deity is to the others. For example, look at Ianthe. The Goddess of Life is closely related to the Gods of Nature and of Knowledge. She is less related to, or neutral towards, the Goddesses of Elements and of Protection. Clerics are the only classes required to follow a deity. Clerics can follow any deity of their choice. For all other classes, following a deity is a roleplaying option. Also, if later on, after following a deity, you decide you don't want to follow -any- deity. You can visit the head priest/priestess and <renounce [deity name]> after a 108 mud day (30 real days) wait period. This will cause you to become an unbeliever in any deity once again. This option is -not- available to clerics. Once you renounce your faith in a deity, you will have to wait 108 mud days (30 real days) before you can follow them once again.
