I had another idea for a miscellaneous weapon... the blowgun.  It would be a hollow staff or club and you would load a dart and shoot a dart from. (A blunt/missile or staff/missile weapon)  Also, for us roguish types... we could concoct ways to use it for sneak attacks...  just a thought.
Darts would come from a small pouch, rather than a quiver, and they could be used like an arrow or bolt.

Also... the sling, staff-sling, and atlatl (a spear/dart thrower from the caveman era) might be cool... especially for the cannibals.
