Stats for rogues, stats for rogues. In the past I would say the only stat I cared about with rogues was how many times I killed them. However those days are long gone. Rogues I see pretty simply as
Dexterity - Primary stat, this is an obvious and I do not think anyone is arguing it. Agile, nimble, avoiding blows. Which ties into ..
Intelligence - On the surface seems a silly stat for rogues. However I feel that when really thought about it makes more sense. They dont even have to be 'book smart' though they most definately have to be 'street smart'. Living in the shadows offers many advantages. You choose who to attach, a street smart rogue will know who is more than their match and will continue on in the shadows. Then there is the lock picks, building traps, knowing where vital organs are, know how and when to gimp their opponent with our many gimps. Finding and exploiting openings in their defense, and most importantly how to stay one step ahead of our enemy because we are not the most sturdy soul.
The third can be argued between two. I can see charisma, it makes sense for some rogues. there definately have been very charismatic rogues throughout fictional and nonfictional histories. Though there have been far too many that gut through with grit and street smarts to discount charisma. I would almost venture to say constitution matters more. Rogues do often engage in lengthy battles using their avoidiance to whittle away at an oponent. Their love for drinks will definately be enhanced by a constitution. And mystica will back me in saying she would rather a man have some outstanding constutution and endurance in bed than just another loud mouthed pretty boy.
Take what you will from that.
