[03-03 21:44][Chat]Icewolfz: gas has only been around roughly 100 years
[03-03 21:44][Chat]Icewolfz: so it is very posisble it wil lbe replaced
[03-03 21:45][Chat]Malice: to be fair, lots of people use wood/pellet heating around here that pre-dates coal, haha
[03-03 21:45][Chat]Icewolfz: took only 75 years for pcs to rule
[03-03 21:45][Chat]Icewolfz: so most of the stuff eing replaced has onyl been around roughly 100 years
[03-03 21:46][Chat]Roku: change is possible, probable and will eventually happen. Fuel Oil furnaces in the NE have been rapidly replaced with electricity eating heat pumps because honestly, its about $1000 for 2 tons of heat/AC instead of a central system at $10k+
[03-03 21:46][Chat]Icewolfz: well acs where toally change in 1 year
[03-03 21:46][Chat]Icewolfz: well maybe 5 yeras
[03-03 21:47][Chat]Icewolfz: ther wa the wohle period that every ac had to siwtch to new gas
[03-03 21:47][Chat]Malice: just moving who has the fuel around. Fuel it yourself, or connect it to the grid... someone is burning the fossil fule somewhere.
[03-03 21:47][Chat]Icewolfz: tha tchanged the entire ac near instantly
[03-03 21:47][Chat]Roku: but only because the power from Niagra Falls (which comes from Ontario power) makes it feasible to do it as fuel oil is consistently one of the costliest heating fuels since the 80's per therm.
[03-03 21:48][Chat]Malice: There are still plenty of things running on old freon like R22... just made it too financially painful to do en masse
[03-03 21:48][Chat]Icewolfz: there a lot of stuff being tried so any time something could be success and kill oil
[03-03 21:48][Chat]Roku: no one wants to refine fuel oil or diesel..its a money loser most of the time for refineries.
[03-03 21:48][Chat]Icewolfz: fusion, salt new plants, etc...
[03-03 21:48][Chat]Icewolfz: just takes the right type of break though
[03-03 21:49][Chat]Icewolfz: perisnally i think we need to do like expand and start mining astroid belt
[03-03 21:49][Chat]Malice: if I were placing a wager, I'd say whatever the world ends up with at any given moment will be a blend of all the available systems.
[03-03 21:49][Chat]Roku: Well now the the EPA can't regulate it, might see R22 make a comeback. Shouldn't really hurt too much if the rest of the regs stay intact, like having to be certified to buy it.
